Indivisible What’s the plan 3/27/25

action items

HANDS OFF! April 5

  • keep advertising (post flyers virtual and real ones—see handsoff2025.com for flyers)
  • attend April 5 event (small or large)
  • emphasize that these are nonviolent: make your event joyful, inclusive and festive. (music, kazoos, bubbles, sunflowers).
  • attend a safety monitoring/deescalation training if someone in your group hasn’t

Reconciliation bill:

  • Ask people in red state or district to contact their reps and tell them to vote no.
  • Reach out to others (even those who voted for Trump because the wanted the price of eggs to go down, etc.) or those who don’t vote. Get them to contact their reps.
  • We want it to be crystal clear that if they vote for this, they will not get reelected.
  • (Donate to campaigns of dems who are standing up and being vocal. etc. They all talk to each other and others will want to be a part of that)

Democracy leadership:

  • Contact your democratic senators and tell them Schumer is not the leader for this moment
  • Ask them to take a stand!
  • We want a party that supports leaders who are actually fighting for us.
  • And thank representatives when they do stand up for us and for our country and democracy.

Grassroots

Be creative, try new things. Let us know what works (always keeping it nonviolent. etc.).

Create welcoming communities wherever you are, form times, build bonds among people who share values: we are peaceful and we want what every american wants.

If you are feeling alone in this, reach out to your community and others who do not approve of what is happening (even if they didn’t vote or voted for the other guy). Authoritarians want you to feel isolated alone, scared, and obedient. They are going after everything we hold dear so thousands who were never active before are organizing in their own communities.

We are in the majority. If we organize, they will lose. We can stop what they are doing, we can slow it down, we can fracture their coalition.

Informational Update

The wave continues: new groups joining Indivisible in March exceeded February )which had more than Nov, Dec, and Jan combined). (even a group in Dublin, Ireland and in Ottawa, Canada)

“Maga infiltrators” were on last weeks call (and probably on this one). They posted clips on X of Ezra recommending Signal for texting as if that was a horrible thing (and this was before “signal gate”—which BTW has nothing to do with signal security. That  fiasco was about users inviting people into their groups and also using something not approved for state secrets, etc.)

Last week there were at least 200 indivisible events around the country including empty chair town halls. And Indivisible had town halls in districts of the 15 most vulnerable house republicans.
