In about two months, we will get ballots mailed to us for the 2022 June 7th Election. So, let’s talk about that for a minute.
OC Board of Education
The June 7th Election is key for the Orange County Board of Education (OCBE) since it will be finalized in June, it will not continue to the November election. Please work on spreading the word about cleaning up that unproductive OC board (vote out Tim Shaw, Lisa Sparks and Mari Barke). They spread lots of misinformation about masking and the vaccine in 2020 as modeled by former President Trump. They also undermined Ethnic Studies in 2021. OCBE District Areas 4, 2 & 5 will be on the June 2022 ballot.

Encourage voters and friends to vote for the following candidates (notice the cities, and reach out):
- Paulette Chaffee for the 4th District: La Habra, Buena Park, Stanton, and Garden Grove https://paulettechaffee.com/about-me/

The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) has a Superintendent of Schools named Al Mijares who is sane and has resisted the OCBE drama and crazy lawsuits. He needs to be re-elected this June.
We need to help spread the word to voters about the June 2022 ballot, which includes:
– OC Board of Education (OCBE)
– OC Superintendent
– Board of Supervisors
– District Attorney
– CONGRESS
Positions like your local school board trustees will be on the November 8th ballot.
So, for example, in the Placentia Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) we will need to protect and keep two blue seats that are on the November ballot which are PYLUSD Trustee Areas 4 & 5. This is the school board that has three QAnon informed members since November 2020 (vote them out in 2024). Interestingly, southwestern Yorba Linda is in PYLUSD Area 4 and in Congressional District (CD)40; and south Placentia is in PYLUSD Area 5 and in CD45.
The congressional candidates are Jay Chen (45th) and Asif Mahmood (40th). Many local parents have asked these campaigns to mention the need to defend public education, that we want a better OC Board of Education, and that school districts are now battlegrounds. So talking about local seats is even more crucial for our communities and the future of education.
